Best Local Produce Stands
We’ve been told it’s weird to have a whole page dedicated to fruit stands, but the ones on the side of 80 are just so good – they deserve it!
Fairfield
Rockville Road (WB side of 80)
A few minutes drive off the Interstate, but the quick drive through the truly beautiful Suisun Valley on historic Highway 40 is worth it.
Castaneda Brothers: Pick your own heirloom tomatoes in season.
The Vegetable Patch: Brussels sprouts that we actually like, and that’s saying something.
Larry’s Produce: THE place to go for locals!
Dixon
Exit 63 (EB) Dixon Fruit Market: Killer salsas!
Exit 68 (WB) Pedrick Produce: Who knew peppers could look this pretty?
Exit 69 (WB) Bridgeway Farms: Only open seasonally (haven’t seen it open this winter yet).
Exit 60 (WB): Can’t tell if it’s called Olive Tree Produce or Good Earth Produce, but either way it’s worth a stop to visit the adjoining field of sheep and lambs. Really!
Davis
Exit 78 (EB) Yolo Fruit Stand: Fresh tortillas, and local produce at great prices. DO NOT try the mint yogurt soda.
Mace Rd- Ikeda’s: A western outpost of the flagship Auburn store.
Loomis
Newcastle Produce
9230 Cypress Street
(916) 663-2016
Killer soups. Stop and bring some up to the ski house for the weekend.

Auburn
Exit 122 (WB) Ikeda’s: The granddaddy of all fruit stands. You need to go there to see it for yourself. You just need to.
